_a"This, the eleventh edition of Research Design and Methods: A Process Approach, reflects a revolution in research practices that has overtaken psychology and other fields that have relied on null hypothesis significance testing (NHST). This revolution followed the discovery that many established research findings fail the test of replication. The "open science initiative," whose elements are designed to increase the transparency and reliability of research, is being increasingly adopted by journals and funding agencies as requirements. Additionally, are being taken to supplement-or replace-traditional NHST methods with other analytic approaches such as Bayesian analysis and "the new statistics" (estimation, confidence intervals, and meta-analysis). We cover these changes and the issues that motivated them, especially in Chapters 3, 4, and 14"-- _cProvided by publisher. |
