This book traces the development of the author's iterest in comabt psychiatry. He has sought and included contributions from those currently active practitioners whose ideas he has found most stimulating and whose work has heleped to shape his own thoughts. The author focuses on combat or combat or combat simulations. He observes that normal people often behave in unusual ways in search situations. Under such circumstances, they may become psychiatric casualties or heroes. Which path they choose appears to depend more upon the extant situational variables than upon intrinsis characteristics of personality.
