Emarald Express '96: Symposium Report. Emarald Express '96 was a humanitarian assistance and peace operations conference conducted by I Marine Expeditionary Force (I MEF) at Camp Pendleton 29 April - 3 May 1996. The goal of Emerald Express 96 was to educate I MEF officers about comples emergency operations. I MEF hosted subject matter experts (SMEs) from the myriad communities integral to resolving CEOs. These SMEs brought practical "muddy boot" experiences, and shared their unique and insightful perspectives on CEOs with the I MEF officers. This forum of Emerald Express 96 include lectures, panel discussions, and a demonstration of non-lethal weapons.
