Ethnic Coflict and International Relations This book provides an incentive tocome to terms with the large amount of exellent studies of ethnic conflict that have appeared since the original edition came out in 1990. It attempts to suggest ways that the global system can improve its attempt to resolve ethnic conflicts. The book mainly dwells on Cyprus, Lebanon, Palestine, Northern Ireland and Sri Lanka. It examines specific ethnic conflicts in order to see what common processes exist in the areas of conflict escalation and conflict management and resolution which will allow us to throw light on the relative merits of certain types of third party involvement. Finally, the book sets out an open ended account of an ongoing project.
