National security Doctrine: An Indian Imperative. The author contends that despite the accretion of so much military power, India has yet to evolve and formalize an indigenous military doctrine of war. To formulate an Indian militry doctrine, he suggests that the 1971 campaign be taken as a model. He emphasizes that India must exhibit the will to power. She does not lack military muscle -only the will to use it effectively.
